SUP (Stand Up Paddle) ANTI-SWEAT™: Moderate adhesion/tackiness. Moderate density/hardness. Displaces water & sweat. Great All-Temp/All-Purpose formula. Thickens easily, wont flake or migrate, not messy.
COLD: Water temps below 64ºF/10ºC. Highest adhesion/tackiness. Softer to retain controlled flow and maximum adhesion in colder temps. Effective under gloves & poggies. Especially easy to thicken. May flow/migrate from paddle grip area in temps above recommended range.
WARM: Water temps above 64ºF/10ºC. Moderate adhesion/tackiness. Somewhat harder to stay in application area without migrating. Excellent on paddles within recommended temp range. Easily thickens to permit finger indexing.
TROPICAL TRACTION™: Water temps above 70ºF/21ºC. High adhesion/tackiness. Denser/harder to avoid flow/migration in highest temp ranges. Will not become gummy or stick to hands. Well suited to warmest water paddlers/surfers and equatorial regions.
SPORT (Non-Slip) GRIP: High adhesion/tackiness. Easy to apply on sport/work apparatuses where increased grip is required. Use on paddles/sticks/tools for work or play.
ALL FORMULAS protect skin, effectively improve grip, reduce fatigue and improve linkage with water sport apparatuses. All significantly increase adhesion and are hydro-phobic, effectively displacing both water and sweat. The 100% natural formulas are skin/watershed friendly and offer excellent skin protection against maceration and friction injuries. The appropriate formula will depend primarily on water/ambient temps however, the specific application/context may also be considered. With this in mind, CHOOSE YOUR FORMULA:
MECHANICAL RATIONALE: Linkage between the body and water sport apparatus is a critical component of performance and safety. Water significantly lowers the coefficient of friction between the skin and smooth contact areas on paddles and surf decks. In paddle sports, control of the paddle is often compromised as muscles fatigue and grip pressure decreases. In SURF and SUP, water & multi-directional forces conspire to displace feet from decks.
Water sport waxes have long been used to improve linkage. Most are petrolium/oil-based by-products that simply shed water. Element Expeditions Grip is unique: in addition to effectively displacing water & sweat, it also significantly increases adhesion to the apparatus. Water displacement and increased coefficient of friction permits lower grip pressure to combat fatigue, reduce paddle shaft rotation and longitudinal hand displacement. In Surf & SUP, GRIP WAX resists the multi-directional forces present between feet and surf decks.
By improving grip and reducing fatigue Element Expeditions' GRIP formulas improve linkage with the apparatus, improving both performance and safety.
SKIN PROTECTION: As skin becomes macerated/swollen with water, it is more suceptable to friction injury including blisters and heavy callousing. Our 100% natural, skin friendly formulas absorb shear forces and creates a hydro-phobic barrier which reduces skin maceration and associated injuries; especially useful for extended paddling or the prolific paddler.
